Sunrise from Swarth Pike, Johnnie Watson 2010

This is a round of the ten highest summits in the Yorkshire Dales including both North Yorkshire and Cumbria.  It was first completed by Johnnie Watson in March 2010 in a time of 22 hours 33 minutes starting from Horton in Ribblesdale.  The run of some 72 miles and 17000' of ascent is based on a route published by Brian Smales in 1999. See below for a brief report of Johnnie's run. 

Route

The object is to visit the ten peaks listed below starting and finishing at the Three Peaks Cafe in Horton in Ribblesdale (Grid Ref SD 798 727). Use OS Explorer Maps OL2 - Yorkshire Dales Southern and Western areas, OL30 - Yorkshire Dales Northern and Central areas and OL 19 - Howgill and Upper Eden Valley.
